Description
3-Formyl rifamycin is a rifamycin derivative antibiotic that induces pore formation in the mitochondrial membrane. Like other ansamycins, this compound is an ansamycin that inhibits DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. 3-Formyl rifamycin displays antibacterial efficacy against Mycobacterium.
