Description
5-Fluorocytosine, or Flucytosine, is a synthetic fluorinated pyrimidine analog that is used as an antifungal agent. In the presence of the enzyme cytosine deaminase it is converted to 5-fluorouracil, an antimetabolite that is an inhibitor of thymidylate synthase.
