15-acetyldeoxynivalenol(15-A-DON)atypeAtrichothecenemycotoxininitiallyproducedbyspeciesofFusarium.15-A-DONistypicallyfoundingrainsusedforlivestockfeedaswellashumanconsumption,suchascerealandbread.Thiscompoundexhibitspotentialanticancerandimmunomodulatorybenefitinvitro,upregulatingIL-8productionandinducingapoptosisinJurkatTcells.15-A-DONalsodisplaysbiphasiceffectsoncytokineproductioninCD4+Tcells,initiallydecreasingexpressionofIL-2,IL-4,andIL-5,thenincreasingexpressionofallthreeafter7daysofexposure.
