3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione(D3T)isaphaseIIenzymeinducerandsulfurdonororiginallyfoundincruciferousvegetables;itexhibitsantioxidative,neuroprotective,andchemopreventiveactivities.Invitro,D3TincreaseslevelsofglutathioneandactivityofNADHquinoneoxidoreductase(NQO1),protectingcellsagainstH2O2-inducedtoxicity.D3TalsoinducesactivationofNrf2,inhibitingethanol-inducedapoptosisinneurons.Additionally,thiscompoundinhibitstheformationofDNAadductsbyDBPinbreastcancercells.
