Description
Vinblastine is a vinca alkaloid found in Catharanthus that exhibits immunosuppressive and anticancer chemotherapeutic activities. Vinblastine is an anti-mitotic that binds tubulin and inhibits proper microtubule polymerization, instead causing formation of curved or misshapen microtubules; it is clinically used to treat lymphomas, leukemias, breast cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
