Description
YC-1isaguanylylcyclaseactivatorandHIF-1αinhibitor.YC-1displaysanti-fibrotic,anticancerchemotherapeutic,anti-atherosclerotic,andneuroprotectiveactivities.Invitro,YC-1decreasessecretionofsENGandsFlt-1,reversingendothelialdysfunction.Inhepaticstellatecells,thiscompounddecreasescellviABIlityandincreasesapoptosis,potentiallythroughsuppressingexpressionofαSMA.Incaninelymphomacells,YC-1inhibitscellproliferation;insimilaranimalmodels,itinducestumorregression.Inotheranimalmodels,YC-1decreasesox-LDL-inducedcholesterolaccumulation.Additionally,thiscompoundsuppressesneuronaldeathinducedbyamyloid-β(Aβ)peptides.
