Description
Zafirlukast is commonly recognized as a leukotriene receptor antagonist which is used in the treatment of asthma. It is found to be a potent inhibitor of VEGF-C/Nrp2. Research on topical usage suggests that zafirlukast may also be effective in preventing capsular contracture and reducing capsule formation of gel implants, a complication arising after breast implant surgery.
