Description
Ticlopidine is a first generation thienopyridine ADP/P2Y12 receptor inhibitor that exhibits antithrombotic and cardioprotective activities. Ticlopidine binds to the P2Y12 receptor, preventing changes in the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa conformation and suppressing fibrinogen-platelet binding. This compound is clinically used to treat acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction.
