Description
Tunicamycin is a nucleoside antibiotic mixture that inhibits glycoprotein synthesis. Tunicamycin prevents N-glycosylation by inhibiting GlcNAc phosphotransferase and other enzymes, inducing G1 phase cell cycle arrest in vitro. Tunicamycin displays anti-inflammatory activity, inhibiting toll-like receptor (TLR) activation-induced inflammation by decreasing activation of NF-κB, activity of CRE, and expression of iNOS, COX-2, TNF-α, and IL-1β in macrophages.
