Description

AndrographolideisalaBDanediterpenefoundinAndrographisthatexhibitsantioxidative,antiviral,anti-inflammatory,anti-diabetic,immunomodulatory,anti-metastatic,andanticanceractivities.Invitro,andrographolidedecreasesTNF-α-inducedgenerationofROSandexpressionofICAM-1andincreaseslevelsofglutathioneandhemeoxygenase1(HO-1).Andrographolidealsodecreasesinfluenza-inducedcellmortalityinvitrobyinhibitingactivationofRIG1-likereceptors(RLRs).Additionally,andrographolidesuppressesdevelopmentofdiabetesinvivobydecreasingexpressionofIL-2,IL-17,andIFN-γandincreasingexpressionofIL-10andTGF-β.ThiscompoundalsodecreasesproductionofNO,PGE2,iNOS,TNF-α,COX-2,andIFN-βinLPS-stimulatedmacrophages.Inleukemiacells,andrographolideinhibitsHSP90activity,decreasesBcr-Abllevels,andinducesapoptosis.
