Description
α-Conotoxin IMI is a peptide inhibitor of α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) originally found in species of Conus snails. α-Conotoxin IMI disrupts motor coordination, inhibiting the swimming ability of leeches. Like other conotoxins, α-conotoxin IMI binds the interface between different subunits of nAChRs.
