Description
Tedizolid is a second-generation oxazolidinone found to be effective against gram-positive pathogens. In murine models of penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae infection, tedizolid was as effective as or more effective than linezolid and showed less inflammatory cell invasion into alveolar spaces. In another study on a murine model of hematogenous pulmonary infection, tedizolid and linezolid both showed antimicrobial and immunomodulatory results superior to treatment with vancomycin.
