Tedizolidisasecond-generationoxazolidinonefoundtobeeffectiveagainstgram-positivepathogens.Inmurinemodelsofpenicillin-resistantStreptococcuspneumoniaeinfection,tedizolidwasaseffectiveasormoreeffectivethanlinezolidandshowedlessinflammatorycellinvasionintoalveolarspaces.Inanotherstudyonamurinemodelofhematogenouspulmonaryinfection,tedizolidandlinezolidbothshowedantimicrobialandimmunomodulatoryresultssuperiortotreatmentwithvancomycin.
