Description
Thalidomidehaspreviouslybeenclinicallyusedasasedativebutwasfoundtoinducebirthdefectsinpregnantfemales.Recently,thalidomideexhibitsanticancerchemotherapeuticpotentialinthetreatmentofmultiplemyeloma.Additionally,thalidomidedisplaysanti-inflammatoryandimmunomodulatoryactivities,improvingTNBS-inducedcolitisinanimalmodelsbyincreasingexpressionofIL-10anddecreasingexpressionofTNF-αandIL-1β.
