Description
NPS-2143isanantagoNISTatCa2+-sensingreceptors.Itdisplaysanti-osteoporotic,neuroprotective,cardioprotective,andantihypertensiveactivities.Thiscalcilyticincreasesboneturnoverwithoutdecreasingbonemineraldensity.NPS-2143alsoinhibitsproductionofamyloid-β(Aβ)andVEGFandneuronaldeathinmodelsofAlzheimer’sdisease.Thiscompoundpreventsdevelopmentofpulmonaryarterialhypertension(PAH)andrightventricularhypertrophyinvivo.Additionally,NPS-2143decreasessecretionofCCK,inhibitsincreasesinintracellularCa2+levels,andincreasessecretionofparathyroidhormone(PTH).
