Description
Propanololhydrochlorideisanonselectiveβ1/2-adrenergicreceptorantagoNISTthatexhibitsanti-arrhythmicandantihypertensiveproperties.Propanololismostoftenusedtodecreasebloodpressureandheartrate.Additionally,theβ-adrenergicreceptorblockademodulatescatecholaminelevelsandincreasesproteinsynthesis,resultingintheABIlityofpropranololtoattenuatewoundhealing-inducedhypermetabolicresponsesduringburntreatment.Propanololalsodisplaysbenefitasananti-migraineprophylactic,inhibitingthecorticalspreADIngduringdepressionthatmayberesponsIBLeformigraines.
