Description

Sincalideisanoctapeptidefragmentofcholestocystokinin(CCK)thatactivatestheCCKreceptoronimmunecellsurfaces.Sincalideismorepotentwhensulfated.Sincalideexhibitsneuroprotective,immunosuppressive,andanorexigenicactivities.Inhippocampalneurons,sincalideincreasesthedensityoffilopodiaanddendriticspines.Invagalmotorneurons,sincalideincreasesexcitatorycurrents.Inothercellularmodels,thiscompoundinhibitsIgG1productionandregulatestranscriptionfactorexpressionandactivationofBcells.Sincalidealsomodulateshormonesignaling,increasingadrenocorticotropichormone(ACTH)secretionandalteringleptin,melanocortin,andcorticotropin-releasingfactor(CRF)pathways.Inseparateanimalmodels,sincalidedecreasesappetiteandincreasescardiacoutput,alsoincreasinggastrointestinalbloodflow.
