SinefunginisanucleosideanalogofS-adenosylmethionine.Sinefunginexhibitsantibacterial,antifungal,andanti-parasiticactivities.ThiscompoundinhibitsStreptococcusbiofilmgrowthaswellasgrowthandsurvivalofTrypanosomaandLeishmania.Sinefunginanditsderivativesinhibitmethyltransferasesandmaydisplaypotentialasepigeneticmodifiers.SinefunginisprimarilyusedinresearchmodelstoexploreactivityofS-adenosylmethionine.
