Description
Sparfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is clinically used to treat respiratory infections; it displays antibacterial efficacy by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Gold(III)-chelated sparfloxacin inhibits proliferation of lymphoma, leukemia, melanoma, and lung cancer cells, displaying anticancer activity.
