Description
Big endothelin-1 is a cleavage precursor to endothelin-1; secretion of this peptide is stimulated by angiotensin II (AT II) and thrombin. Like endothelin-1, big endothelin-1 exhibits vasoconstrictive/hypertensive activity, increasing arteriolar constriction and decreasing blood flow.
