SIVmac239 is a highly pathogenic strain of simian immunodeficiency virus; it is a primate analog of HIV that is designed to study the effects of the immunodeficiency virus in Rhesus macaques. Like HIV, SIVmac239 primarily infects lymphoid and myeloid cells. This sequence is a peptide fragment.
