Description
Felodipine is a dihydropyridine antagonist at L-type cardiac Ca2+ channels. Felodipine exhibits antihypertensive, cardioprotective, and anti-inflammatory activities. In rat models of metabolic syndrome, felodipine decreases blood pressure, activation of NF-κB, and levels of serum insulin, ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and circulating macrophages. In animal models of cardiac ischemia/reperfusion, felodipine decreases infarct size.
