Description
Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is an endogenous peptide hormone that regulates energy homeostasis, feeding behavior, and circadian rhythms; it exhibits orexigenic and pro-inflammatory activities. MCH increases feeding behavior in animals and inhibits IL-10 expression, modulating inflammation. Increases in MCH expression are linked to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
