Description
Naproxen is a propionic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral activities. Naproxen inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 and is clinically used to treat fever, swelling, and pain. In vitro, naproxen inhibits influenza virus infection through binding of the nucleoprotein and preventing initiation of transcription and replication.
