Description
Coumestrolisaphytoestrogenfoundinvariousplantsourcessuchassoy,spinach,andclover;itexhibitsestrogenic,anti-inflammatory,immunomodulatory,anti-osteoporotic,andantidepressantactivities.CoumestrolactsasanagoNISTatERβandinhibitsaromataseand3α-hydroxysteroiddehydrogenase.Coumestroldecreasesimmobilityinanimalsundergoingtheforcedswimtest.Additionally,thiscompounddecreaseslevelsofTNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,andRANKL,limitsTcelldifferentiationandactivation,andsuppressesformationofosteoclastsinvitro.
