ClenbuterolisanagoNISTatβ2-adrenergicreceptors.Clenbuterolexhibitsneuroprotectiveandanti-inflammatoryactivities;itisalsoknownforitsABIlitytodecreaseADIposecellsizeandincreasemusclefibersize.Invitro,clenbuterolupregulateshistonedemethylaseJHDM2athroughmodulationofPKA/cAMPsignaling.Invivo,thiscompoundincreasesIGFsignalingtoinducehypertrophyinskeletalmuscle.Additionally,clenbuterolinhibitskainicacid-inducedapoptosisofhippocampalneurons,decreasingexpressionofinflammatorycytokinesandincreasingexpressionofBDNFandNGFinotheranimalmodels.
