Description
Ramelteon is a melatonin MT1/2 receptor agonist used clinically to treat insomnia. Ramelteon displays hypnotic activity and may be immunostimulatory as well. In animal models, ramelteon decreases wakefulness and increases slow-wave and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.
