Description
Phyllolitorin is a bombesin-related amphibian nonapeptide. Phyllolitorin induces contractions in urinary bladder smooth muscle and may play a role in lung branching morphogenesis. In mammals, phyllolitorin binds the gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP)-preferring bombesin receptor and the neuromedin B-preferring bombesin receptor. Phyllolitorin also elicits grooming and scratching behavior in mammalian animal models.
