Description
Resiniferonol-9,13,14-orthophenyl acetate (ROPA) is a diterpene vanilloid derivative of resiniferatoxin. In vitro, ROPA induces G1/S phase cell cycle arrest, downregulates expression of cyclin D1, upregulates expression of p21, and induces activation of ERK1/2, JNK1/2, and MAPKs. ROPA may activate PKC, promoting carcinogenesis and acting as a tumor promoter.
