Description
Desloratadine is a non-sedating tricyclic antihistamine that inhibits H1 histamine receptors. Desloratidine is an active metabolite of loratadine that exhibits anti-allergic, anti-asthma, and anti-inflammatory activities. Desloratadine inhibits histamine-induced bronchoconstriction and is clinically used to treat allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. This compound also acts as a functional inhibitor of acid sphingomyelinase (FIASMA).
