Description
Ftorafur is an antimetabolite pyrimidine analog that exhibits anticancer chemotherapeutic activity. Ftorafur is a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil that inhibits thymidylate synthase, preventing thymidine synthesis. Ftorafur is typically clinically co-administered with other chemotherapeutics to decrease its peripheral cytotoxicity.
