Description
Gemifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that displays antibacterial activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Gemifloxacin is commonly used as a short course of treatment for acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and COPD. This compound is also an effective treatment for Streptococcus pneumoniae-induced community-acquired pneumonia.
