Description
Ivermectin is an avermectin-family antibiotic that exhibits anti-parasitic/anti-helminthic activity. Ivermectin activates glutamate-gated Cl- channels, interfering with neurotransmission and muscle function in arthropods and nematodes. At high doses, ivermectin also activates GABA-A receptors and glycine receptors.
