Description
Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic found in Streptomyces. Lincomycin exhibits antibacterial activity by binding the bacterial 50S ribosome subunit, inhibiting peptidyl transferase, and inducing dissociation of peptidyl-tRNA from the ribosome. Lincomycin also displays anti-parasitic/antimalarial activity against Plasmodium.
