Description
Magainin 2 is a membrane-disruptive antimicrobial/antibacterial peptide (AMP). Magainin 2 binds to gangliosides on cell membranes, increases membrane permeability by forming pores. Magainin 2 induces formation of giant unilamellar vesicles in lipid membranes, inducing membrane leakage and inhibiting bacterial growth.
