Description
Mizoribineisaninhibitorofinosinemonophosphatedehydrogenase(IMPDH)thatexhibitsimmunosuppressiveand,potentially,antifungalactivities.Mizoribineisusedclinicallyinorgantransplantationsandtotreatrheumatoidarthritisandlupus.Insynovialcells,mizoribinedecreaseslevelsofIL-6andmatrixmetalloproteinase1(MMP1).Mizoribinealsoinhibitsproliferationofmesangialcells,decreasingexpressionofcyclinD1,skp2,andCDK2;italsoincreasesexpressionofp27.Additionally,thiscompoundmaydecreaseproliferationofspeciesofCandidaandAspergillus.
