Description
Dihydrokainic acid is an inhibitor of GLT-1, preventing cellular uptake of glutamate. Dihydrokainic acid exhibits neuromodulatory activity and may induce excitotoxicity and excessive NMDA receptor activation. In vivo, dihydrokainic acid attenuates binge drinking behavior.
