Description
Etodolacisanon-steroidalanti-inflammatorydrug(NSAID)thatinhibitsCOX-2;someofitsantinociceptiveandanalgesicactivitiesstemsfromitsABIlitytoalsoactivateanddesensitizetransientreceptorpotentialankyrin1(TRPA1)channels.Etodolacalsoexhibitsanticancerandchemopreventiveactivities,decreasingincidenceofintraductalpapillarycarcinomainvivo.Etodolacinducescellcyclearrestandinhibitsgrowthinhepatocellularcarcinomacells,increasingexpressionofp21andp27anddecreasingexpressionofCDK2,CDK4,Cdc2,cyclinA,andcyclinB1.EtodolacalsodisplaysrADIcalscavengingactivityinvitro.
