Description
Oxymetazoline is a sympathomimetic imidazoline derivative that exhibits vasoconstrictive and antioxidative activities; it acts as an agonist at α1-adrenergic receptors and a partial agonist at α2-adrenergic receptors. Oxymetazoline is clinically used as a decongestant. This compound also inhibits lipid peroxidation and acts as a radical scavenger in vitro.
