Description
Cycloheptylaminomethylenediphosphateisabisphosphonatecompoundthatinhibitssqualenesynthaseandsterolbiosynthesisinvitroandinvivo.Invariousimmunecells,thiscompoundincreasescaspase-mediatedapoptosis.Likeotherbisphosphonates,thiscompoundisknownforitsuseinpreventingboneresorptionandboneloss.Invivo,thiscompoundinhibitsosteoclast-mediatedboneresorptionandpreventsbonelossduetoimmobilization.WhenadmiNISTeredchronically,thiscompounddelaysfracturehealinginvivo,butimprovesstiffnessandultimateloadofthefracturedbone;itdoesnotpreventboneformation.
