Description
GlucoraphaninisaglucosinolateoriginallyfoundincruciferousvegetablesoftheBrassicaceaefamily,suchasthedaikonrADIsh.Glucoraphaninexhibitsanti-inflammatoryandneuroprotectiveactivities.Inananimalmodelofspinalcordinjury,glucoraphanindecreaseshistologicalinflammatorydamage.Inananimalmodelofrestraintstress,thiscompounddecreasesstress-inducedproductionofTNF-αandIL-1βandalsoincreasesIL-10levels.Glucoraphanindecreasesdopaminetransporterdegradation,expressionoftyrosinehydrolase,andreleaseofIL-1βandROSaswellasapoptosisinMPTP-inducedanimalmodelsofParkinson’sdisease.Inanimalmodelsofmultiplesclerosis(experimentalautoimmuneencephalitis;EAE),glucoraphanindecreasestranslocationofNF-κB,releaseofpro-inflammatorycytokines,andapoptosis.Weightisonanhydrousbasis.
