Description
Kaempferolisaflavonolfoundinmanyplantsourcesthatexhibitsantioxidative,anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,anti-angiogenic,anti-metastatic,anti-obesity,andanticancerchemotherapeuticactivities.KaempferolinhibitsLPS-inducedreleaseofTNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,andIL-18aswellasactivationofNF-κBandAktinvitro.Inneurons,kaempferoldecreasesglutamate-inducedincreasesinROSlevelsandoxidativestress.Inanimalmodelsofbladdercancer,thiscompoundinhibitscellproliferation,inducesapoptosis,anddecreasestumorgrowth.Invitro,kaempferolalsodecreasesADIpogenesis,suppressestriglyceridesynthesis,andincreaseslipolysis.KaempferolinhibitsVEGFsecretionandangiogenesisincellularmodels.Inosteosarcomacells,thiscompoundinhibitscellmigrationbydecreasingexpressionofuPAandmatrixmetalloproteinases2and9(MMP2/9).
